Jonathan Poore

About Me...
My name is Jonathan Poore, and I'm one of the science teachers here at Central Davidson High School.  I specialize in teaching Chemistry (standard, honors, and AP), but have also previously taught both Earth Science and Physical Science.  I earned my B.S. degree in Chemistry from Lander University (Greenwood, SC) in 2002.  I began my career at Central Davidson during the 2013-2014 school year, but previously taught for seven years as a Chemistry Laboratory Instructor at the university level.  I'm a registered member of both the AACT (American Association of Chemistry Teachers) and ACS (American Chemical Society).  Additionally, I serve as an adviser for the CDHS Chem Club (chartered December 2017 through the American Chemical Society), and have been appointed a regional representative of the American Association of Chemistry Teachers.  I strive to ensure that each of my students doesn't just leave my classroom knowing the material, but are prepared with the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful on into college and out in the workforce.  Please feel free to contact me anytime through e-mail at [email protected] or by phone at (336) 357-2920.
**Links to syllabi for each of my courses can be found at the bottom of this page.  Here you will find information related to classroom expectations, assignments policies, and district grading guidelines.
