     Hello! I am Mr. Bertaux and have been the Band Director at CDHS since 2023. I graduated from UNCG with a degree in music education and started my teaching career in 2019. My goal is to help create lifelong musicians and share my passion for music with my students. I am committed to creating a positive and nurturing environment for all students, regardless of their musical background or skill level. I believe that music has the power to transform lives, and I am honored to be a part of my students' musical journey. 

    In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I am also the sponsor of the Tri-M Music Honors Society Club. This club provides students with opportunities to grow musically, develop leadership skills, and engage in community service. I am also a member of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) and the North Carolina Music Educators Association (NCMEA).
