CDHS Weekly Update

Here are the weekly updates for Central Davidson High School.
  • As the school year is winding down, we just wanted to remind everyone that attendance matters more now than ever. As students are starting to prepare for exams, their attendance in class helps ensure they are ready and well prepared to take their final exams. Final exams do count for 20% of a student's final grade, so we encourage all students to take these tests seriously!
  • We thank all of our visitors for attending our Senior Awards Day on Friday. Your support of the school and your child is what makes our school successful!
  • Students interested in attending summer school need to complete an application ASAP!! Applications are available in our main office.
  • Current 9th and 10th graders - we are extending the deadline to sign up for next year's PSAT.  If you are interested, please submit your form and money to a counselor during your lunch.
  • As we prepare for the end of the year, students will not be allowed to charge lunches anymore. Please be sure to pay off any charges to the principal's account prior to the end of the year!
  • Next Tuesday begins exams at CDHS. Information was sent home earlier in the year. First period exams for all students will be on the morning of Tuesday, June 5, followed by third period senior exams or second period review session in the afternoon.
  • On Wednesday, June 6, all students will take second period exams in the morning. Seniors will then take their fourth period exams in the afternoon, and underclassmen will go to third period for a review session.
  • On Thursday, June 7, all underclassmen will take their third period exams in the morning, followed by a fourth period review session in the afternoon.
  • And finally, on Friday, June 8 all underclassmen will take their fourth period exams in the morning. Students with transportation will be released after exams.
  • Attendance will be taken each day during exams and the review session. Therefore, unless you have earned certification or exam exemption, if you are absent from a review session and it puts you over the limit for absences, you will lose credit for that course. When in doubt, attend school!
  • Seniors will not report to school on Thursday, June 7.  Seniors are reminded of the mandatory graduation practice at 1:30 pm on Friday, June 8.  Please meet on the football field at this time. Failure to attend practice will result in you not being allowed to participate in graduation on Saturday.
