Principal's Message

Central Davidson Spartan Students and Families,

This is your principal, Heather Horton. We are looking forward to seeing all of you at Open House on Tuesday, August 19. Freshmen students and parents will meet in the gymnasium at 6:00 pm for a brief presentation. Returning students may come anytime from 6:00 to 8:00 pm to pick up their schedules from their homeroom and visit their classroom teachers. For the majority of returning students, their homeroom teacher should be the same as last year. If a student is unsure of their homeroom teacher, staff will be available in the Commons to assist with this information. Students who are unable to attend Open House may pick up their schedule from the front office Wednesday through Friday from 7:30 to 4:00 if they would like a copy before Monday, August 25. Starting tomorrow night, an electronic form will be shared for students to request schedule changes. Schedule changes will only be made for students who meet the following criteria:

  • The student is missing a course that is a requirement for graduation

  • The student is scheduled for a class they have already completed

  • The student is scheduled for a course with a prerequisite that they have not previously completed

  • The student has previously failed the course and is scheduled to take it again with the same teacher

  • The student is scheduled for a course they did not request as a primary or alternate choice during the registration process

  • The student does not have a complete schedule, with 4 classes per semester.
