Next week, Nov. 2-6 we will have a slight change to our schedule. Monday Nov. 2 we will have A day students at school. Remember, Tuesday Nov. 3 is a teacher workday and students will not attend school. On Wednesday Nov. 4 we will have A day students back at schoo,l and Thursday and Friday Nov. 5-6 we will have our B day students at school. Looking ahead, please be reminded that Wednesday Nov. 11 is a Holiday and Central Davidson will be closed for staff and students.
Next Friday, Nov. 6 and the following Monday Nov. 9 we will have underclassman picture retakes at school. If you wish to have a picture remade, please bring back the proofs from your original photo, especially if you are interested in purchasing your child's picture. For any students who are 100% remote, if you wish to come to school and have a picture made, please contact Ms. Blackwood as soon as possible.
Parents, report cards were mailed home or given to your student this week in Homeroom. Please look over your students grades and ensure they are on track to pass their courses for the semester. In terms of grading for CDHS, this quarter our school felt we needed to have standard grading expectations across all classes. Going forward, while we are in this state of remote learning, CDHS will allow students up to a maximum of 5 calendar days to turn in assignments past its due date. Once the 5 days have passed, teachers have discretion to grade accordingly. Also, you may see teachers place 0’s in the gradebook as an early warning indication that the student has not turned in the assignment.
A reminder, any student who plans on driving to school is asked to register their vehicle on our school's website and then pay the school board approved fee of $35.00 in order to get a parking pass. The parking pass must be displayed in the students windshield while they are parked at school.
Please remember that any student who is currently 100% remote may elect to return to school at any time for the remainder of the semester. We just ask that once a student makes a change they stay with that change and NOT flip back and forth from remote learning to coming back to school.
Finally, parents, time moves fast. We are already into November. Please ensure your student is turning in work, and most importantly NOT missing major assignments. Before you know it we will be in mid-December and looking at wrapping up the semester with teacher made and state final exams.
