School Year 2018-2019

          Central Davidson High School is committed to the safety and well being of your student.  It is with that in mind that the below listed Shop Safety Rules have been developed.  There can be no deviation from these rules for any reason.  The rules are to ensure the safety of your son or daughter and the safety of other students and the instructor.   As the Instructor, it is my responsibility to create a safe learning environment for the students.  Students will be “tested and certified” on all equipment before they will be allowed to use the equipment.

 

SHOP SAFETY RULES

  1. No Horseplay.
  2. Eye Protection will be worn at ALL times while in the shop area.
  3. Hearing protection will be worn as needed (Determined by the Instructor).
  4. Dust masks will be worn as needed (Determined by the Instructor).
  5. No open toed shoes.
  6. No lose fitting clothing.
  7. No loose fitting jewelry or ear rings with long pointed backs.
  8. No students are allowed in the mezzanine storage area without permission.
  9. If a machine “fails”, cut it off immediately and notify the Instructor.
  10. In case of an accident (no matter how small) notify the Instructor immediately.
  11. No students are allowed in the shop area without the Instructor present.
  12. Students may not bring in personal tools to be used.
  13. The shop and individual work areas will be cleaned at the end of each class.
