This is Mr. Coloton with an update from Central Davidson High School.
This week is the end of the first quarter marking period. Please encourage your student to turn in assignments and wrap up this grading period on a positive note. We will go to Homeroom on Oct. 27 and 29 to distribute report cards to students, and we will mail home report cards to those students that are 100% remote. Parents, please be sure to look over your child's grades closely.
For the next quarter, we would like to invite all of our remote students back to school. All that needs to be done is for you, the parent/guardian, to call the school and let us know your child will be returning for face to face instruction. If you choose to remain on the remote list, no further action is necessary. It will be implied that your child will continue with remote learning. If during the second quarter, you decide to send your child back to school, please call the school and discuss this with a school official.
Also, beginning next quarter, we will have a new school-wide attendance procedures. This is a change. Students will have a quick attendance link embedded in EACH of their canvas courses and all the student needs to do is fill out the attendance form stating they are present to school each day they are remote learning and that is for all FOUR classes EACH DAY! We want to ensure that attendance is accurately represented for all our students.
Please remember that October 16 there is no official school for students. It is a teacher workday and we will resume our normal schedule of A day and B day next week Oct. 19 - 23 with Wednesday being the asynchronous remote learning day.
